honey bun cake
Have u guys ever had those lil Debbie’s honey buns? This cake literally taste like those except in a cake form. SOOO moist and sweet like honey .
LOOK HOW MOIST. a sweet honey bun cake with cinnamon sugar layers topped with a warm vanilla sticky glaze.
Ingredients:
172g cake flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
Pinch of salt
113g unsalted butter
140g granulated sugar
60g honey
60 ml buttermilk
60g greek yogurt
2 large eggs
30 ml avocado oil
2 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp cake batter extract
Filling:
100g brown sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon
icing:
180g powdered sugar
1.5 tbsp honey
2-4 tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 f. Line a 9x9 square cake pan with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together the cake flour, baking soda, baking powder and some salt. Set aside.
In another bowl, add in the buttermilk, oil, greek yogurt and vanilla extract, and the cake batter extract.
In another large bowl , add the softened unsalted butter and mix on low speed until smooth and creamy. Add in the sugar and mix again on medium speed until fluffy.
Add in the eggs. And mix.
Slowly add in the buttermilk mixture and the dry ingredients into the butter mixture. Alternate about twice.
Use a spatula to fold everything together. Set the batter aside.
Make the filling! Combine cinnamon and brown sugar together.
Pour half of the batter into the 9x9 pan. And spread most of the cinnamon mixture over the batter. Pour the remaining batter on top. Sprinkle the small leftover off the cinnamon sugar on top.
Bake for 40 minutes!
Make the icing as it cools. Whisk together the powdered sugar, honey, milk and vanilla.
Pour the icing on top of the cake and slice
